Knicks' Jalen Brunson Won't Play With Clippers Due To A Leg Injury

New York Knicks' upcoming game against the Los Angeles Clippers will be played without their point guard Jalen Brunson due to a sore left foot, according to an announcement made by the team on Friday.

The decision was made after Brunson re-aggravated his foot injury during the first half of Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings, where he managed to score 19 points, two rebounds and two assists before being forced to exit the game. Head coach Tom Thibodeau commented that Brunson was experiencing soreness and the medical team would be evaluating the injury.

Jalen Brunson, the point guard for the New York Knicks, will not play in the upcoming game against the Los Angeles Clippers due to a sore left foot, the team announced on Friday. Brunson had to exit the game against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday after aggravating his foot injury in the first half.

Although he scored 19 points, two rebounds, and two assists, the player's soreness caused him to leave the game early. Head coach Tom Thibodeau stated that medical staff would need to assess Brunson's condition.

Brunson missed two games against the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets this week due to the same injury. He previously missed three games in December because of a sore hip and one game in February due to illness. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, Brunson is unsure how he initially injured his foot, and it is unclear what activities cause the re-aggravation of his injury.

Jalen Brunson's current NBA season has been the most demanding of his five-year career, having already started 62 of the 63 games he's played in.

Prior to joining the New York Knicks as their starting point guard, he mostly served as a backup to Luka Donćić while with the Dallas Mavericks and had never started more than 61 games in a season. Despite the heavier workload, the 26-year-old is having the best season of his career, with an average of 23.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists, while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from beyond the arc.

However, his recent foot injury has sidelined him for the team's upcoming game against the Los Angeles Clippers, marking the seventh game he has missed this season due to various ailments.
